Program Description |
The purpose of the NIDCR Dual Degree Dentist Scientist Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Transition Award (F99/K00) is to provide support and mentorship to graduate students enrolled in integrated dual degree dental (D.D.S./D.M.D.) and Ph.D. programs during the transition from predoctoral student to postdoctoral scholar. This phased award will facilitate the completion of predoctoral dual-degree dentist-scientist training (F99) and ensure the transition to mentored postdoctoral positions in dental, oral, and craniofacial (DOC) research (K00). It is anticipated that the successful completion of this phased award program will enhance dual-degree dentist-scientists’ research career trajectories. |

Award Benefits |
For the F99 phase, award budgets are composed of stipends, tuition and fees, and institutional allowance. For the K00 phase, award budgets are composed of salaries and fringe benefits, research and career development support, and indirect costs. |
