Research Priorities

The NIDCR strategic plan helps guide the institute’s funding of research. Strategic planning is used to establish priorities, set clear goals, and detail the actions needed to achieve them. The current strategic plan was launched in 2021 and is being implemented through 2026. NIDCR is in the process of updating the strategic plan to ensure it is aligned with the current administration’s priorities and complies with this administration’s executive orders. The updated version will be posted once available.

Concepts represent early planning stages for initiatives in which NIDCR seeks to support research in an understudied and significant area of science.
