Program Description |
The goal of the administrative supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research is to enhance the diversity of the research workforce by recruiting, mentoring, and supporting research experiences for individuals from diverse backgrounds from high school to the faculty level, including those from groups that have been shown to be underrepresented in health-related research. This supplement opportunity is also available to support PD(s)/PI(s) of research grants who are or become disabled and need additional support to accommodate their disability to continue to work on the research project. NIDCR accepts applications on a continuous basis. For PD(s)/PI(s) seeking diversity supplement awards before the end of the fiscal year (September 30), applications must be submitted by mid-July of that fiscal year. Applications received after this date will be considered for funding in the next fiscal year, which begins October 1. Note: because of the budgetary cycle, no awards are made in October and November. Eligibility |
Program Director(s)/Principal Investigator(s) (PD(s)/PI(s)) holding active NIDCR grant whose research is supported by specific types of research grants (activity codes listed in PA-23-189 and PA-24-255). Candidate eligibility for the supplemental program is limited to citizens or non-citizen nationals of the United States or to individuals who have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States (i.e., in possession of a Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551). |
