Shoba Thirumangalathu, Ph.D.

Shoba Thirumangalathu, Ph.D. is a Program Officer within the Research Training & Career Development Branch where she manages Mentored Career Development awards and Loan Repayment Programs.

Dr. Thirumangalathu earned her doctorate in developmental neuroscience from National University of Singapore. As a graduate student, she received the National Medical Research Council of Singapore’s pre-doctoral fellowship. Dr. Thirumangalathu completed her postdoctoral training in development and stem cell biology at the Joslin Diabetes Center. She continued her research training as research fellow and instructor at University of Colorado where she was independently funded through NIH, NIDCD R03 grant. She was the recipient of Association of Chemoreception Sciences, Polak Young Investigator Award.
