Biographical Sketch
Dr. Hiroko Iida is the Director of the Oral Health Disparities & Inequities Research Program and the Acting Director of the HIV/AIDS & Oral Health Research Program at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). She earned her dental degree from Kagoshima University, Japan, and her M.P.H. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Iida is dually trained in pediatric dentistry and dental public health and completed a fellowship in Reproductive, Perinatal, and Pediatric Epidemiology at the University of Washington.
Prior to joining NIDCR, Dr. Iida was an oral health program administrator in the District of Columbia and New York State. She also served as a faculty member at the University of Rochester and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she taught clinical dentistry and research. Dr. Iida is board-certified in dental public health.
