Dr. Szymczuk’s research interests are in pediatric endocrinology and rare disorders of bone and mineral metabolism.
Biographical Sketch
Dr. Szymczuk is currently a staff cinician in the Metabolic Bone Disorders Unit at NIDCR and is also an attending physician in the Division of Endocrinology at Children’s National Hospital. Her previous position was with NIDCR’s Metabolic Bone Disorders Unit as a clinical fellow where she focused on research in Fibrous Dysplasia/McCune Alright Syndrome (FD/MAS).
Dr. Szymczuk completed her pediatric endocrinology fellowship in the NICHD Program at NIH and completed her clinical training in pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Dr. Szymczuk completed her medical education at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts. Prior to her medical education, Dr. Szymczuk performed research in muscle regeneration in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa in Canada and during her medical training conducted research in pediatric orthopedics at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics and the International Center for Limb Lengthening in Baltimore, MD.
