Our Goal
We use biochemistry, proteomics, human embryonic stem cell (hESC) culture, and human genetics to study how stem cells utilize the posttranslational modifier ubiquitin to determine cell-fate choices during development. In particular, we focus on cell-fate decisions involved in neural crest, neuronal, and hematopoietic differentiation and whose mis-regulation lead to congenital diseases of impaired brain and craniofacial development or autoinflammation.
