Biographical Sketch

Diana Rutberg serves as the acting associate director for management and acting executive officer of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, National Institutes of Health. She is the NIDCR director's primary advisor on all phases of administrative management. In addition, she directs the Institute's administrative management, budget, HR, information technology, ethics, and management analysis functions.

Ms. Rutberg has 20+ years’ grants management experience and demonstrated success leading strategic change across complex grants management programs and interagency agreements with educational and research institutions, and other partners. She has led complex grants management and financial programs in excess of $2.5B.

Ms. Rutberg was recently selected for a highly competitive year-long White House Leadership Development Program (2022-2023). Participating in developmental assignment within the Executive Offices of the President (EOP), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), in the Made in America Office (MIAO). This program offers a broad federal perspective on high-priority challenges and access to senior decision-makers at the center of government. The Made in America Office is responsible for leading the Federal process and implementation of the Buy America preference.

Prior to joining HHS and NIH in 2002, Ms. Rutberg worked for five years in the private sector at Marriott International Corporate Headquarters administering a $3.5 million Department of Labor Welfare-to-Work program. Ms. Rutberg received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Maryland in 2003.
